The Northeastern men’s soccer team ended the night with a scoreless tie against George Mason at Parsons Field. The Huskies are 0-0-3 in CAA matches this season.
NU had a goal taken away within the opening minutes of the game when the referee called a Husky player offside. Five minutes later, junior Daryl Brack missed a shot wide off a cross from senior Jay Betley.
In the second half, Northeastern had multiple chances but couldn’t seem to get a shot on net. The Huskies played stonewall defense, allowing only seven shots of which none were on net.
In the first overtime, sophomore Greg Kilkenny and Brack each missed a shot that could have won the game. Kilkenny had NU’s only chance with a shot in the second overtime.
NU led on corners 11-6 and outshot the Patriots by a 20-7 margin. George Mason keeper Eric Barnes made three saves on the night.
The Huskies host Towson at Parsons Field on Sunday, Oct. 9 for a 1 p.m. start.
