Northeastern's Matthew Laning converted a pass from Lars Okland in the 82nd minute to even the match at one in a double overtime thriller against George Mason at Parsons Field Saturday night.

The goal was Laning's first of this season and kept the Huskies unbeaten streak alive at nine games. The Huskies improved to 5-2-6, 3-0-3 CAA on the season and now share the top spot in the conference with UNC Wilmington. George Mason's record goes to 6-5-2, 2-3-1 CAA on the season.

Despite the score, there was plenty of offense in the match by both teams. There were a total of 26 shots taken, with NU holding the advantage 16-10. The Huskies were able to get six shots on goal, while the Patriots could only manage three.

It was all George Mason early in the first half as the Patriots kept the ball on Northeastern's side of the field. George Mason struck early on a goal from forward Parker Walton, who was charging the net when he received a pass from Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe. The goal came at the 13:29 mark of the first half.

The Huskies came out strong in the second half as they outshot the Patriots 7-1. Northeastern got the equalizer when Alexander Volk chested a ball to Okland who then made a beautiful pass in the box to Laning for the goal.

The Huskies had plenty of chances to put in the winning goal in the last five minutes of the second half and in the two extra periods. The offense was led by Lewis Ehrlich and Mike Kennedy who both had four shots on the day. Goalkeeper Scott Partridge made two saves and only saw three shots on goal in the match.

The tie give Northeastern six ties on the season which ties a Husky record.

Northeastern is back in action on Wednesday when the Huskies travel to Drexel at 4 p.m. to continue their conference schedule.
