Alexander Volk scored off a header from Eric Dyer in the 89th minute to force overtime, where the Huskies (6-4-7, 4-2-4 CAA) would eventually play to a 1-1 double overtime tie with William & Mary (9-5-3, 5-4-1 CAA) on Senior Day at Parsons Field.

The goal came off a Ryan Burnham corner kick that sailed to the left side of the box where Dyer headed it towards the net. Volk received the ball and shot it in the right corner for his second goal of the season.

With the tie, the Huskies remain in a tie in third place with William & Mary and George Mason in the CAA standings. Northeastern will clinch a playoff berth with a win or tie in their last regular season game.

The Huskies found themselves down early as Nathaniel Baako scored in the 9th minute of the game when he beat Scott Partridge with a shot in the right corner. The shot was the Tribe's only shot of the half, but they made it count and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Huskies dominated the second half as they kept putting pressure on the William & Mary defense. They had several opportunities to score, but did not capitalize until the 89th minute on Volk's goal. The Huskies outshot the Tribe 10-5 in the second half and attempted seven corner kicks to W&M's four.

Lars Okland led the way with five shots, landing one on goal. Northeastern outshot William & Mary in the game 20-9 and Scott Partridge made one save in the match.

Northeastern honored its senior players Jonathan Batista, Lewis Ehrlich and Volk today for Senior Day. Batista received a Red Sox jersey with his name on it from the Red Sox Foundation for his work in the Boston Community. Ehrlich was not present at the game due to a family illness that has caused him to miss the last two weeks of the season.

Northeastern will close out its season when the Huskies travel to VCU to take on the Rams at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The match has great playoff implications as Northeastern is only two points ahead of the Rams, who need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
