Anderson sets shot put and discus records again
Anderson won the shot put, beating NCAA indoor champ Garrett Johnson of Florida State (runner-up, 64'7.75) in the process as well as indoor All-Americans Sheldon Battle of Kansas and Brian Robison of Texas. He placed third in the discus on Friday behind Vikas Gowda of North Carolina and Adam Kuehl of Arizona.
Anderson first second the Northeastern shot put and discus records when he won both events at the America East Championship in 2004. He redshirted the 2005 season and opened the 2006 season with an NU record of 186'3.75 at the Hurricane Invitational at Miami. Last weekend at the Mason Spring Classic in Fairfax, Va., Anderson won both the shot put and discus with record-setting throws of 63'4.25 in the shot put and 191'10 in the discus.
Freshman Nate Hunter competed in the 'B' section of the shot put, placing 11th with a throw of 53'7 and also competed in the discus.

Myers Stadium (Austin, TX)Derek Anderson capped off an unbelievable double when he tossed the shot put a Northeastern-record 65'2.75 on Saturday after breaking the NU mark in the discus on Friday with a throw of 194'5.
