Wagner named to Orange Invitational All-Tournament team

Junior Lindsay Wagner was named to the 2001 Orange Invitational All-Tournament team on Sept. 1, 2001 for her outstanding play in the two-day event.

Wagner led the Huskies offensively as she averaged 3.0 kills and 2.6 digs per game, while hitting a hefty .313 overall for the tournament. In the Huskies season-opening loss to Fairfield, 3-2, Wagner recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 12 digs. She followed that performance up with a season-high 18 kills on 49 attacks with just one error for a hitting percentage of .347.

In the final match of the tournament versus Kent State, Wagner tallied nine kills with a season-high 17 digs.

The Beaverton, Oreg. native was the only Huskies selected to the All-Tournament team. Other members of the team included Kent State's Chantel Vineyard, Sarah Kutschinski and MVP Stephanie Doran. Syracuse had Laura Koster on the team, while Fairfield had Joanne Saunders and Carola Stowe.
