Deatherage named to Penn Invitational All-Tournament team

Senior Kristin Deatherage was named to the 2001 Penn Invitational All-Tournament team for her excellent play on Sept. 21 and 22 at the Palestra in Philadelphia, Penn.

Deatherage led the Huskies offensively in all three matches in the tournament. In the Huskies' first match of the tournament, against Robert Morris, she recorded season highs in kills (26) and digs (18). Deatherage followed that up with 10 kills and 10 digs against Loyola.

In NU's final match of the Invitational, Deatherage had 18 kills and once again set a season high in digs with 22 against host Pennsylvania. She recorded double-doubles (kills-digs) in all three matches of the tournament.

The Huntington Beach, Calif. native averaged 4.5 kills per game, 4.2 digs per game and 1.0 blocks per game, while hitting .255 overall for the tournament. She was also the only Husky to be selected to the All-Tournament squad.
