Brad Snodgrass begins his 11th season as diving coach for the Huskies, and not many coaches have matched the level of success Snodgrass has had on Huntington Avenue. Since the 1995-96 season when Snodgrass became part of head coach Roy Coates' staff, Northeasten divers won seven of 10 America East titles in the one-meter dive and eight of 10 championships in the three-meter dive. His divers have qualified for the NCAA Championship multiple times, including 2004 graduate Adela Gavozdea, who earned All-America honorable mention accolades in each of the past three seasons.
Acknowledging his success, Snodgrass was named America East Diving Coach of the Year in 2001, '02, '04 and '05. He faces a new challenge as the Huskies enter the Colonial Athletic Association in 2005-06. But Snodgrass brings a wealth of diving knowledge to the task as he has been coaching divers for the past 24 years.
Before he came to Northeastern, Snodgrass extended his diving knowledge for 14 years to the programs at MIT and Tufts University, where he coached numerous national qualifiers. He is also the regional technical director of United States Diving for New England.
Before moving on to pursue his degree at Tufts, Snodgrass attended Columbia, where he dove for U.S. National Team coach Jim Stillson. He swam and dove for Concord-Carlisle High under the guidance of former Olympic coach John Walker. Snodgrass was the 1980 AAU and New England High School diving champion.
Brad lives in Watertown with his wife, Alexandra, and their daughter, Melia.
