| 2005 Schedule/Results Northeastern 3, Georgia State 1
The Northeastern volleyball team moved above .500 in the Colonial Athletic Association, defeating Georgia State 3-1 (30-26, 30-19, 19-30, 30-18) Friday in Atlanta, Ga. Five NU players registered double-digit kills, as the Huskies upped their overall record to 3-6 on the season (2-1 CAA). The Lady Panthers are now 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the CAA. The Huskies had five different players register 12 or more kills in the match, and for the third consecutive outing, both senior Brandie Genibrel and sophomore Kira Batura posted double-doubles. Batura led all players with 15 kills and added 13 digs, while Genibrel mirrored those totals by posting 13 kills and 15 digs. Senior Larissa Adomat, junior Ashley Reeves and freshman Lauren DeTurk each registered 12 kills in the match, and the three middle hitters combined to hit a whopping .342 in the contest. The Huskies posted a season-best .321 attack percentage as a team. Reeves and DeTurk each tallied three blocks on the evening, while Adomat added two. The tandem of junior setters Ivana Pavlisin and Chelsea Carroll continued to work well, with the two posting 37 and 22 assists, respectively. Another encouraging sign for the Huskies was the play of junior Whitney Turner, who saw her first offensive action since suffering an injury in the opening weekend at the UMBC Invitational. Turner registered four kills on eight attempts on Friday. The Lady Panthers got 14 kills from Brittany Roche, 12 from Ana Paula Ferraira and 11 from Alex Blenche in a losing effort. The Panthers will finish off the conference weekend by playing host to Hofstra on Sunday.
NU is back in action Sunday afternoon, when it heads to UNC-Wilmington for a matchup with the Seahawks, who stand at 3-6 (0-3 CAA) after a four-game loss to Hofstra Friday night. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. Volleyball Detailed Stats
