| 2008 Schedule/Results Northeastern 3, James Madison 0
Caitlin Tittl’s five blocks late in the third set boosted the Huskies to a 3-0 win over James Madison Sunday afternoon at Solomon Court. The Huskies improve to 15-9 overall and 9-1 in the CAA. Lauren DeTurk posted eight kills and 13 digs, while senior Sarah Stein had eight kills on a .429 hit percentage and five blocks. James Madison got off to a great start in the first set taking an early advantage in the scoreboard over the Huskies. Down 3-5, Northeastern went on a 4-0 run off of serves from Leah Nuebeck. The Huskies then went on a tear to take a 13-9 lead. The Dukes would not go down without a fight as they rallied back to come within one. But the swings of Britney Brown spoiled James Madison’s hopes of a comeback, as NU went on to win the set 25-20. The Huskies carried their momentum to the second set, taking an early 3-1 lead. The Dukes cut the lead down to one, but that was as close as JMU would get. Northeastern fought strong and hard behind the arm of Lauren DeTurk who had four kills in the set. NU cruised to a 25-15 win in set number two. James Madison came out fierce in the third set taking a 4-0 lead. The Huskies rallied back to tie the set up at seven all. But, Holly Wall of James Madison denied a Northeastern leading a 6-0 JMU run. Northeastern, down by as many as seven, took advantage of JMU errors to rally back to tie the set at 22 all. Caitlin Tittl and Britney Brown would take matters in their own hands as they recorded two late blocks that lifted the Huskies to a 26-24 win. Northeastern is back in action Friday Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. when it travels to Delaware.
