The Huskies defeated Columbia for the second straight season, pulling out the victory in the final minute of play. Up 35-32 at intermission, Northeastern scored the first eight points of the half to go ahead 43-32 with 18:43 left. The Huskies extended their edge to 13 at 54-41 with 12:35 to play. But the Lions got back in the game, going on an 18-3 run to reclaim the lead, 59-57 with 6:18 showing. Megan Bramlette, who scored a game-high 25 points for Columbia, hit a three-pointer as the shot clock expired and then added a jumper on the Lions' next possession for a 66-63 advantage. Tesha Tinsley (NU-high 17 points) made both ends of a critical one-and-one, and after a Columbia turnover, Betsy Palecek (15 points) gave NU the lead for good by sinking a pair of successful free throws with 30 seconds remaining.
