Northeastern 66, Brown 56
Tesha Tinsley had 17 points and a career-high 12 rebounds to lead the Huskies to a 66-56 win over Brown at the Pizzitola Center.
Brown jumped out to a 13-8 lead on an Erin Middendorp layup with
13:14 left in the first half, before the Huskies went on an 8-2 run,
taking their first lead of the game since the opening minute at 16-15,
with 9:31 remaining in the half.
After exchanging leads for the final five minutes of the first half,
Brown took a 32-30 lead into the halftime break.
Brown had its last lead of the game via a pair of Julie Amato free
throws at 36-35 with 17:24 remaining in the contest.
The Huskies took the lead for good on a Lani Lawrence field goal at
the 16:48 mark, giving Northeastern a 39-36 advantage. Brown cut
the lead to two on a Vita Redding layup at the 13:57 mark, but
would get no closer than five the rest of the game.
The Huskies placed four of five starters in double figures, beating
their third Ivy opponent this season.
