Northeastern 69, Harvard 64
Northeastern continued its dominance of the Ivy League, defeating Harvard, 69-64, behind 22 points from Betsy Palecek. NU won its fifth straight game after jumping out to a big lead and holding on in the final minutes. The Huskies had a lead as big as 17 points in the first half and went into intermission up 39-23. Palecek had 12 points and Lani Lawrence scored 10 of her 11 points before the break. Harvard used a 24-9 run to start the second half to pull within one at 48-47 with 11:21 left. But the Crimson never took the lead. NU responded with a 7-2 spurt, highlighted by two Palecek jumpers, to forge a 55-49 edge with 9:26 to go. Harvard cut it to three in the final minute, but Tesha Tinsley (18 points) hit three of four free throws to secure the win for the Huskies. NU is now 4-0 against the Ivy League this season with wins over Columbia, Cornell, Brown and Harvard.
