New Hampshire 74, Northeastern 72 (OT)
Adriane Domanski scored 19 points and Orsi Farkas added 17 as New Hampshire defeated Northeastern in overtime, 74-72. NU, winners over league-leading Maine on Thursday, couldn't complete the sweep of the conference's two top teams and dropped to 13-7, 7-5. UNH won its fifth in a row and improved to 16-4, 10-3. The Huskies had two shots in the final seconds of overtime, but Genny Caruso's three-pointer missed short with five seconds left and Tesha Tinsley's 17-foot jumper at the buzzer rattled out. NU led 70-69 with 3:38 left in overtime, but Farkas made a jumper with 2:28 remaining to give UNH the lead for good. On NU's next possession, Tinsley (game-high 29 points) missed three shots before Aubrey Danen got a defensive rebound for UNH. Farkas made a layup at the other end with 49 seconds left for a 73-70 edge. After a Lani Lawrence layup cut it to one again, Sarah Bushey made one of two free throws with 13 seconds showing for the final 74-72 score. Domanksi had four three-pointers and 14 points in the second half, incuding a trey that gave UNH a 67-64 edge with 1:37 left in regulation. Wanda Almengot answered with a three-pointer for NU with 1:00 remaining to tie the game. After Kiki Proctor missed for the Wildcats, the Huskies turned it over with 13 seconds left. Proctor had another ahot with two seconds left that missed. Kelly Donahue and Proctor both added 13 points for the Wildcats. For NU, Betsy Palecek had 21 points, Almengot 11 and Lawrence nine to go with 12 rebounds. The game was tight throughout with eight lead changes and 13 ties. UNH had a six-point lead, the largest by either team, at 25-19 with 8:03 to go in the first half. NU went on a 7-1 run to tie it at 26 and the game was even at intermission, 30-30. Tinsley was seven of nine from the floor with 15 points at the break. The Wildcats scored the first five points of the second half to go up 35-30 with 18:43 left, but the Huskies came back with a 10-4 surge to reclaim the lead, 40-39, with 14:46 showing. The teams then traded baskets the rest of the way.
