Huskies add to 2009-10 recruiting class
Northeastern women's basketball head coach Daynia La-Force Mann has
announced that acclaimed recruit Rachael Pecota of San Francisco will
join the Huskies for the upcoming 2009-10 season. Pecota is a 6'1 wing forward from The Urban School in San Francisco and is the 25th-best wing in the nation's 2009 recruiting class,
according to ESPN/Hoopgurlz. She joins Deanna Kerkhof and Afreyea Tolbert to complete the Huskies' recruiting for the year.

Huskies release 2009-10 non-conference schedule
The Huskies will open the 2009-10 season against the defending NCAA champion Connecticut Huskies on Nov. 14,
head coach Daynia La-Force Mann announced Monday as part of her
non-conference schedule release. After Connecticut, the Huskies will play teams from six different conferences, including home games against Rhode Island Nov. 21, Army Nov. 28, Massachusetts Dec. 2 and St. John's Dec. 29.

Huskies end promising 2008-09 season
The young Northeastern women’s basketball team that is compiled of seven freshmen and four sophomores proved that it could compete with the best in the Colonial Athletic Association and against any team in division I basketball. The Huskies had a challenging non-conference schedule to go along with their rigorous CAA schedule but they managed to silence the critics by finishing 8-10 in the CAA, good for sixth place for the second straight year. The Huskies were also 12-19 overall.

NU signee shines in tournament
Afryea Tolbert, of St. Mary's High School in Rutherford, N.J., played for Manhattan in the 35th annual Wheelchair Charities, Inc. HS Basketball Classic which took place early this week in Brooklyn, N.Y. on the campus of Long Island University. Tolbert took her team to championship game against Queens/Long Island. The 5'8 guard signed with Northeastern during November's early signing period and was featured in an article on FiveBoroSports.com.

Huskies come up short in CAA Quarterfinals
The Huskies came up just short at the CAA Tournament quarterfinals falling to the No. 3-seed James Madison 51-49 Friday night at the JMU Convocation Center in Harrisonburg, Va. Kim Carr led the way for NU with 14 points and seven rebounds. Jasmine Crew added 10 points and nine boards, while Brittany Wilson contributed with eight points and eight rebounds. Northeastern finishes the season with a 12-19 overall record and 8-10 in the CAA.
