The women’s basketball team spent a Saturday morning at the Northeastern University Henderson Boathouse riding on the Charles River.

Northeastern women’s rowing head coach Joe Wilhelm, assistant coach Laura Macfarlane, and men’s rowing assistant coach Brogan Graham quickly taught the women’s basketball team the basic essentials of rowing and guided the team down the river.

The goal of this activity was to bring the team together as one and have them work as a team. The Huskies have a unique motto this season; “Ubuntu,” or I am because we are. Coach Daynia La-Force Mann arranged this team activity to go along with the motto in hopes that the team will learn to trust each other, work together, and be a whole.

The Huskies kick off their 2008-09 season November 14 at Big East opponent St. John’s.
