The women's crew varsity boat was easily beaten by Columbia in the inaugural Woodbury Cup Saturday evening on the Orchard Beach Lagoon in New Rochelle, N.Y.
Columbia opened up a three-seat lead after 500 and then made it a length lead after 1000 to seal the victory.
The Lions also won the novice race, 7:44.5 to 8:06.0.
There was no second varsity race, but in its place was a varsity four race. NU's A boat won at 8:52.8 while the B boat came in at 8:58.6. Columbia brought up the rear with a time of 9:10.3.
The Huskies will compete against Boston University next Saturday, April 23. The varsity boat will row at 9 a.m.
