Huskies outraced by Brown, Yale April 30, 2006 Seekonk RiverThe Northeastern women's crew team lost to Brown and Yale on Seekonk River course in Providence, RI late this morning. In what were inclement weather conditions with fierce tailwinds and white caps, Brown took an early lead and was able to finish one length ahead of Yale and two lengths ahead of Northeastern.
At the 500 mark, Brown had a deck lead on Yale, who had a deck lead on NU. By 1,000 Brown was ahead of Yale by a length, who were ahead of NU by a length. The pace held up for the remainder of the race with Brown crossing the finish line at 5:53.3, ahead of Yale's 5:57.5 and NU's 6:06.8.
The Huskies record fell to 6-3 and they will now begin preparing for the Eastern Sprints at Cooper River in Camden, NJ on Sunday, May 14.
