Huskies finish sixth in Petite Final at Eastern Sprints

The women's crew team finished sixth in the Petite Final at the EAWRC Eastern Sprints on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. on Sunday. NU came in 12th overall with a time of 6:48.04, behind Dartmouth (6:31.17), Bucknell (6:31.270), Cornell (6:38.79), Syracuse (6:42.03) and Columbia (6:42.24).

The Huskies were tied with Dartmouth after 750 meters when they slipped a slide, causing them to row the rest of the race with seven oarswomen and finish last.

Earlier in the day, the No. 5 Huskies came in third in their first heat with a time of 6:40.07. Last year, Northeastern placed sixth overall when it competed in the Grand Final.

The second varsity eight crew placed fifth in the Petite Final after coming in fourth in its first heat, while the novice eight crew finished third in the Petite Final after coming in fourth in its first heat.
