Miranda Paris is entering her first season as the assistant varsity coach after spending the past two years coaching the Northeastern novice crews. She began her coaching career at Riverside with the Lightweight Men’s Program, winning back-to-back Senior Lightweight Men’s 8+ titles at the 2006 and ’07 Canadian Henley Regatta. She served as the assistant coach for the U.S. Lightweight Men’s 8+ at the 2006 and 2007 World Championships.

She rowed for four years at Wellesley College, captaining the Blue as a senior in 2003 and earning Most Valuable Oarswoman honors twice. In her senior season, the Blue won their first-ever NEWMAC Championship, won a bronze medal at the ECAC Championship, and participated in their first-ever NCAA Championship, finishing fourth.

After graduating cum laude, Paris worked at State Street Bank and Arnold Worldwide, while training full time at Riverside. As a post-collegiate rower, she participated in the U.S. National Selection Regattas, won medals at the U.S. Rowing Championships and Canadian Henley Regatta, as well as a bronze medal in the Championship 2x at the 2005 Head of the Charles. Her athletic career was abruptly ended when she was diagnosed with a heart condition, but this has fueled her competitive spirit as a coach.
