Huskies return to Providence for rematch with Friars
The No. 9 Northeastern Huskies (8-2-2, 4-1-2-1 Hockey East) return to Providence for the second time in 12 days for a rematch with the Friars (4-5-5, 3-2-3-2 Hockey East) tonight at Schneider Arena at 7 p.m. On Nov. 8, the Huskies and Friars played to a 1-1 draw, before Providence downed NU in a grueling 13-round shootout to earn an extra conference point. Northeastern and Providence are currently tied for first place in Hockey East, although the Huskies have one game in hand.

Fenway doubleheader to be televised on NESN
The Hockey East doubleheader at Fenway Park on Jan. 8, 2010 will be
televised live on NESN in high-definition, as announced by the conference today. Coverage of
the event will begin at 4 p.m. with the Huskies' game against the
University of New Hampshire and will conclude six and a half hours
later after the Boston University/Boston College men's game.

Schelling honored for third straight week
Sophomore Florence Schelling (Oberengstringen, Switzerland) was named
the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, as
announced by the conference office. Schelling has taken home the honor
in three straight weeks and five of eight weeks overall this season.
The sophomore
netminder stopped 67 of 69 shots in two games vs. Maine over the
weekend. Schelling continues to lead the nation in both GAA (0.81) and
save percentage (.970).

Huskies blanked by Maine, 1-0
The No. 9 Northeastern Huskies (8-2-2, 4-1-2-1 Hockey East) dropped a hard-fought decision at the hands of the Maine Black Bears (3-9-2, 1-5-2-1 Hockey East) on Sunday, 1-0 at Matthews Arena. The loss snapped the Huskies' six-game unbeaten streak. Sophomore goaltender Florence Schelling turned in another impressive performance with 35 saves. Northeastern returns to action on Friday, Nov. 20 at Providence at 7 p.m.

Freshmen power Huskies to 5-1 win over Maine
On the strength of six points from freshmen, the No. 9 Northeastern Huskies dispatched the Maine Black Bears, 5-1 at Matthews Arena Saturday. Kelly Wallace produced her first two collegiate goals, while fellow freshman Casey Pickett tallied two helpers. Junior Alyssa Wohlfeiler netted two goals and added an assist for her third-career three point game. Northeastern returns to action tomorrow at Matthews Arena when the team hosts its "Skating Strides Against Breast Cancer" game vs. Maine at 2 p.m.
