Seeking redemption for a 2-1 loss at Matthews Arena in late November, the UNH Wildcats welcomed the Huskies to the Whittemore Center for a much-anticipated rematch of two of the nation's top teams. In convincing fashion, the host 'Cats roared to victory, 9-1 against an overwhelmed NU squad. UNH junior Carisa Zaban scored a hat trick, two goals against starter Erika Silva and one against relief goalie Jen Buckley. Wildcat Samantha Holmes assisted on each of Zaban's goals and finished with a remarkable six points on the night. The game started innocently enough when Husky junior Lisa Giovanelli scored her third goal of the season, staking NU to a 1-0 lead halfway through the first. After being frustrated by Silva's 18 saves in the first period, the Wildcats finally solved her midway through the game, and the floodgates then opened. The Wildcats proceeded to score all nine goals in a slim span of 22 minutes.
