Looking to build momentum for the upcoming Beanpot and the stretch run, the Huskies scored an important 7-4 win over a struggling St. Lawrence team Saturday afternoon at Matthews Arena. The battle was evenly contested until late in the game as the teams traded goals before the Huskies broke it open in the final five minutes. Senior Hilary Witt picked up a rebound off the back boards that eluded Saints' netminder Caryn Ungewitter to put the Huskies ahead 5-4, and it would stand as Witt's seventh game-winning goal of the season. Junior center Lisa Giovanelli (pictured) was a force throughout the entire game, scoring two goals and assisting on two others. The blueliners also came to play as rookie Kim Greene scored a goal and added two assists while senior mentor Jennie Setaro had three helpers of her own.
