| 1999-2000 Schedule/Results Brown 4, Northeastern 2
Less than thirty seconds into the game, Brown senior Tamra Jones put the Bears on the board as she banked one in off of NU goalie Erika Silva from behind the net. Six minutes later, Bear freshmen Courtney Johnson and Kim Insalco connected to set up Olympian defenseman Tara Mounsey, who was able to score from a prime slot position. Brown junior Patricia Long put the Bears up 3-0 before the opening period had ended. Northeastern mounted a comeback halfway through the third period when first-year defenseman Kim Greene (pictured) and Hilary Witt scored goals less than four minutes apart. It was goal No. 20 on the season for Witt, and the fourth in four games for Greene. Unfortunately, Brown was able to stifle the comeback bid by notching one of its own shortly after Witt's momentum-gaining goal. Bear goalie Ali Brewer needed to make only 17 saves while NU stopper Silva finished with 22. Northeastern now possesses a conference record of 10-5-3 and will be hard-pressed to regain home ice advantage for the ECAC playoffs which commence in early March.
