NU sophomore Brooke White opened the scoring at 4:15 of the first period, netting her sixth goal of the year on a scramble in front of the BC net. The Huskies went on to score three more times in the first period, twice on power play opportunities. In the second period, junior Lisa Giovanelli (pictured) tallied twice for Northeastern, conmpleting her second hat trick of the year and giving her team a comfortable 6-0 lead headed into the final period. Amber Bobin had BC's best chance to break the shutout midway through the third period when she hit the post to the left side of NU goaltender Mary-Ellen Courtemanche, who finished the game in relief of starting stopper Erika Silva. Courtemanche stopped all seven shots she faced in the third period, while Silva made 10 stops before resting for the final frame. Eagle starter Sharon VanTuyl made 18 saves through two periods, while reliever Christy Nentwig was impressive in the third, stopping 13 of 14 NU attempts. Northeastern's Betsy Dyke rounded out the scoring with her fifth of the year, an unassisted goal at 12:47 of the third. With the win, NU improves to 16-6-3 overall on the season and will advance to next Tuesday night's championship game against Harvard. Boston College falls to 5-17-1 and will face Boston U. in the consolation match.
