| 1999-2000 Schedule/Results Northeastern 4, Niagara 0
Northeastern paced the first period, outshooting Niagara 16-4. But the only shot the Huskies were able to convert against netminder Tania Pinelli was a tic-tac-toe passing play from defenseman Kim Beneduce to junior forward Colleen Coen who set up linemate Betsy Dyke in the low slot. It was Dyke’s sixth goal of the season. The second period saw more of the same. Northeastern’s continued offensive barrage resulted in two goals by senior sniper Hilary Witt, one on an early power play and one on a clean breakaway at 19:30. Sophomore Brooke Whitney assisted on both goals to extend her point streak to eight games. Pinelli stopped two point blank chances near the eight minute mark of the third period to prevent Witt from completing her second hat trick in as many days. Northeastern sophomore Brooke White was able to beat Pinelli on a partial breakaway sprung by rookie blueliner Kim Greene to complete the scoring. Pinelli finished with 38 saves in the losing effort. The victory moves the Huskies to 18-7-3 overall and 12-5-3 in the ECAC, where they are battling for home ice advantage. Niagara falls to 10-11-1 in the conference, and 17-11-2 overall.
