Junior Colleen Coen opened the scoring just 1:50 into the game when she took a crossing pass from Hilary Witt and put it into the high corner above UNH goaltender Jen Huggon. It was Coen's 10th goal of the season. The Wildcats evened it up early in the second period when Melissa McKenzie intercepted Brooke White's shot attempt from the point and skated end-to-end for a shorthanded goal. A determined force all game long, White redeemed herself later in the period when she scored back-to-back goals just one minute apart. Teammate Brooke Whitney set up White's first score at 15:08 with some superior moves into the slot, while White helped herself with an unassisted goal at 16:03. Stopper Erika Silva held down things at the other end, shutting down three strong UNH chances in the middle of the second stanza. New Hampshire continued to press in the third period, outshooting the Huskies 10-3. The Wildcats cut the deficit to only one goal at the 15:08 mark, but Lisa Giovanelli would score on the rebound to give the Huskies a two-goal cushion once again with just over two minutes remaining. Wildcat Tina Carrabba was able to score with Huggon pulled in the final minute, but it was too little too late for New Hampshire as the Huskies held on for the victory. Huggon finished with 22 saves on the game, while Silva collected 28. The win allows Northeastern to advance to the ECAC semifinal at Brown on Saturday at 4 p.m. Scoring: 1st Period: 2nd Period: 3rd Period: Northeastern Goaltending:
