Northeastern senior Kim Greene scored the first two goals of the game en route to a hat trick, as the host Huskies (4-6-1) rolled past Quinnipiac (2-7), 6-1, in non-conference action at Matthews Arena.
Greene, who now has eight goals this season, started NU off with a power-play goal at 2:22 of the first period. Greene found the net again 10 minutes later at the 12:26 mark with assists from Michelle Lorion.
The Huskies outshot the Bobcats 13-3 in the first period and went into the break with a 2-0 advantage.
Freshman Theresa Ella added to the NU lead with a goal 40 seconds into the second period. Kathryn Sands and Brooke White assisted on the play. Greene tallied her third goal of the game at 19:32 of the second from Chrissy Sands. Pamela Pachal extended the Husky lead to 5-0 at 19:54 with Greene assisting for her fourth point of the game.
Freshman Lori DiGiacomo scored her second goal of the season with a power-play goal at the 8:59 mark of the final period. Quinnipiac's Caitlin Peters prevented a shutout by slipping the puck past NU netminder Marisa Hourihan at 15:04. Hourihan finished with 17 saves.
