Northeastern turned a 1-1 game into a comfortable 4-1 victory with three third-period goals at Yale on Saturday in a non-conference game at New Haven, Conn.
Rebecca Paul scored her fifth goal of the season just 2:34 into the game to give the Huskies a quick lead, but Yale answered just before the period ended as Deanna McDevitt beat NU netminder Chanda Gunn (19 saves) to make it a 1-1 game at the first intermission.
Rebecca Peters scored on the power play from Lori DiGiacomo and Brooke White at 4:30 of the second period to put the Huskies ahead to stay. Michelle Lorion netted her fourth goal of the season at 11:21 and White scored with two minutes left in the period for a cushy three-goal margin after two periods.
The Huskies controlled play for most of a scoreless third period, outshooting Yale 13-6 to finish with a game edge of 37-20.
