| 2002-03 Schedule/Results New Hampshire 3, Northeastern 0
Senior goaltender Jen Huggon stopped all 12 shots on goal to lead No. 6 New Hampshire to a 3-0 Hockey East victory against Northeastern at the Whittemore Center on Saturday night. UNH, which also recorded a 3-0 victory against Northeastern on Friday and did not allow a goal by the Huskies in three games this season, won its third consecutive game to improve to 17-3-1 overall and 11-0-0 at the Whittemore Center. The victory also keeps the Wildcats atop the Hockey East standings with a 7-0-0 conference record. Northeastern lost its fourth straight game to fall to 5-11-2, 1-5-1. UNH opened up the game with a power-play goal by Carolyn Gordon just 3:42 into the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Randi MacMaster initiated the scoring sequence with a pass from the left circle to Kristen Thomas at the point. After Thomas’ slap shot was stopped by Northeastern goaltender Chanda Gunn (27 saves), Gordon collected the rebound in the slot and shot the puck into the open net for her team-leading 13th tally of the season. The Wildcats carried that 1-0 advantage into the first intermission and extended it to 2-0 at 4:07 of the middle stanza on the first goal of the season by Jaime VanMassenhove. Debbie Bernhard dumped the puck behind the net to Annie Fahlenbock, who found VanMassenhove at the left side of the net. Her shot from along the goal line eluded Gunn. Chandy Kaip capped off the scoring with her eighth goal of the season at 14:45 of the third period. After receiving a pass from linemate Lindsay Hansen, Kaip fired a high-angled shot from the left doorstep that squeezed between Gunn’s pads.
