| 2002-03 Schedule/Results Northeastern 5, Boston College 4
After trailing 2-0 in the first period, Northeastern exploded for four second-period goals, including two from senior Kim Greene, and held on for a 5-4 victory over Boston College in Hockey East action at the Conte Forum Tuesday night. The win was the second straight for the Huskies, who improved to 7-11-2 overall and 3-5-1 in the conference. The Eagles fell to 7-11-3 and 0-6-3. NU now leads the all-time series 53-1-2. BC's Kerri Sanders scored a power play goal 55 seconds into the third period to cut the Eagles' deficit to 5-3. The Huskies held until 51 seconds remained, when Jaclyn Kryzak pulled BC within 5-4 with a power play goal. Gunn came up with a huge save on penalty shot by Alaina Clark with 1:57 on the clock to help secure the win. The Eagles outshot the Huskies 14-6 in their attempt at a comeback. The Huskies trailed, 2-1, midway through the second period before senior Brooke White knotted the score at 2 and opened the floodgates by lifting a rebound over the sprawled body of BC netminder Lisa Davis at 10:45. Rebecca Paul and Lori DiGiacomo assisted on the play. Freshman Theresa Ella put the Huskies ahead 3-2 with a wrist shot from the slot over Davis' right shoulder at 8:22. DiGiacomo and Cyndy Kenyon assisted. Greene then added goals at 7:56 and 3:15 to give Northeastern a commanding, 5-2, advantage heading into the final stanza. NU dominated play in the second, outshooting the Eagles, 15-3. BC's Sarah Courtney opened the scoring in the first period. NU goalie Chanda Gunn blocked Courtney's initial shot, but the rebound deflected right back to Courtney, who collected the puck and managed to slide it around Gunn and into the back of the net at 9:00 of the first period. The Eagles managed to break through the Husky defense two minutes later, when Jaclyn Connolly knifed through the slot then beat Gunn high to her stick side for a 2-0 lead at 11:03. Later in the first, Paul won a face-off in the BC end, sending the puck back to Lindsay Snider, who fired in a slap shot that slid through the legs of Eagle netminder Lisa Davis at 14:44. Snider's first goal of her career pulled the Huskies within 2-1 going into the break, despite being outshot, 13-10.
