The Huskies lost to Niagara 6-0 despite 29 saves by goalie Marisa Hourihan on Saturday at Dwyer Arena in Niagara Falls, N.Y. The Huskies lost 7-2 on Friday night and fall to 0-2-0 on the season. Niagara improved to 2-2-0.
The Huskies kept close to Niagara throughout the game, trailing 2-0 after the first period and 3-0 after the second. Niagara scored three goals in the final period to make it 6-0.
Hourihan made nine saves each in the first and second periods, then totalled 11 stops in the third period. Niagara goalie Nikki Rudy made 12 saves for the shutout.
The Huskies will try for their first win on Tuesday when they host Quinnipiac at Matthews Arena. The game begins at 2 p.m.
