| 2007-08 Schedule/Results Northeastern 0, Providence 4
Unlike the first meeting between the teams this season, the Huskies could not score in Saturday's game against Providence and lost 4-0. Danielle Tangredi scored twice for the Friars and Danielle Ciarletta made 24 saves for the shutout. The Friars came out shooting and held possession for most of the first, but Sulyma held her ground. On one play, PC's Alyse Ruff had a breakaway and hit the post and Amber Yung was there for the would-be goal, but Sulyma recovered quickly and nabbed the puck for the save. Overall Sulyma had 18 saves in the first period. PC's Danielle Ciarletta had six. The Huskies came out played more aggressively in the second but had nothing to show for it, thanks to Providence's tough defense. NU's Chelsey Jones had a breakaway but was tripped right in front of the goal by Colleen Martin who was sent to the penalty box. Less than a minute later Sarah Feldman was sent to the box for hooking Lindsay Berman, giving NU a 5-on-3. But The Friars killed off the huge advantage for the Huskies. The Friars were finally able to get one on the board at 4:39 when Danielle Tangredi grabbed a rebound off Erin Normore's saved shot for her eighth goal of the season. Amber Yung was also credited with an assist. In the period, NU took 10 shots on net but Ciarletta stopped them all. Sulyma made another 13 saves in her second period of work. The Friars tacked on three goals in the final period. The first was scored by Pamela McDevitt at 8:57 off assists from Alyse Ruff and Kathleen Smith. Then at 12:17 Mari Pehkonen had the puck on the right side of the net and slit it just inside the left post and over the goal line for the Friars' third goal. Erin Normore and Jean O'Neill assisted on the play. The Huskies decided to pull Sulyma with three minutes left in favor of an extra skater, but Tangredi was able to score an empty net goal at 18:43 to put the game away for good. Brittany Simpson and Normore assisted. Sulyma was put back in for the remainder of the game and finished with 40 saves for the sixth time this season and now leads the league with 809 total saves. Sulyma now has the highest save total for a freshman ever at NU, and stands fifth on the single-season saves list and ninth on the career all-time list. The loss drops the Huskies to 6-20-3 overall and 5-10-1 in conference play. They'll have a chance to make up the points tomorrow when they face off with the Friars again at 2 p.m., at Schneider Arena. Hockey Game Box Score (Final)
