The Huskies came away with a 3-0 victory over the Vermont Catamounts on Saturday at Gutterson Field House. Both Kristi Kehoe and Nikki Petrich recorded two-point games while goalie Leah Sulyma was perfect with 31 saves for her first career shut out.

Like Friday night's contest, both teams were scoreless after the first period. 15 of Sulyma's 31 saves came in the frame, as she was able to stonewall a relentless Catamount attack with multiple rapid shots from the crease.

The Huskies were finally able to break through in the second period, when UVM's Peggy Wakeham was called for interference just a minute into the period. NU's Lindsay Berman lived up to her reputation as a powerplay specialist and netted her fourth powerplay goal of the season, her sixth overall, at 1:40. She was assisted by Kristi Kehoe (14) and Nikki Petrich (8). Berman now has 17 points on the season, 12 of which have come on the powerplay. The Huskies doubled the lead at 17:52 when Kehoe scored her 11th goal of the season, assisted by Petrich.

Meanwhile Sulyma continued to hold off the Catamounts, making another 11 saves in the frame.

The third period was closely skated, but the Huskies were able to kill off a tripping penalty and added another goal at 19:02 by Colleen Sanborn to complete the 3-0 win.

Sulyma finished the afternoon with 31 saves, earning her first career shut out. She now has 900 total saves on the season, which leads all of Hockey East and places her third on the NU single-season saves list.

Petrich's two assists makes her the third Husky to break through to 20-points this season, behind Kehoe and Chelsey Jones. Kehoe's two points capped off her three-point weekend, as she scored the Huskies' lone goal in Friday's loss. Kehoe leads the team with 25 points and ranks second in Hockey East freshman scoring. She also has a three-game point streak (2-2-4) and five points (2-3-5) in her last five games.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 7-22-3 on the season and 6-12-1 in Hockey East. Up next NU takes on Boston University for a home-and-home series to end the season beginning next Saturday at Walter Brown Arena.
