BOSTON, MA — Kim Greene, a junior defenseman on the Northeastern women’s hockey team, has been named ECAC Eastern League Player of the Week. The announcement came from the conference on Monday Nov. 5.

In two games last week, Greene helped NU to a pair of victories with four goals and an assist. Friday Nov. 2 at Connecticut, with NU trailing 1-0, Greene tied the game with a goal in the second period. Northeastern went on to a 3-1 victory. The following night, again versus Connecticut, Greene led the way to a 5-3 win with her first career hat trick to go with an assist.

Greene currently is second in the ECAC Eastern League in points with 11 and second in goals with eight. She leads the team in both categories. Greene has a point in every game this season and a goal in five straight.

Northeastern is off to a 6-0-0 record. It is the best start to the season for the Huskies since the 1991-92 began the year 11-0-0. NU plays a pair of games with Boston College this weekend, Saturday at home against the Eagles and Sunday in Chestnut Hill.

Greene is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence Academy and is a member of the Class of 2004 at Northeastern.
