Day's first goal came on an assist from fellow freshman Melissa Cohen. Day added her second goal of the afternoon late in the first half on a feed from another newcomer, Finland's Mia Kiistala. Providence cut the lead in half on a goal from Michelle Caravana at 9:42 of the second half. Cindy Cochran made seven saves in net for the Huskies to help preserve the win.
