| 2000 Schedule/Results Northeastern 2, Siena 0
The Northeastern women's soccer team started the new millennium off on the right foot as they defeated Siena College 2-0 Thursday night at Sweeney Field. The Huskies are now 4-1 in season openers and a perfect 4-0 in season openers at home. Junior midfielder Shannon Dwyer got the Huskies on the board first, just after the 40 minute mark, from a brilliant pass courtesy of junior defenseman Amy Devendorf. Off a free kick, Devendorf sailed the ball over the heads of Siena defensemen perfectly to Dwyer, who scored just the second goal of her Husky career. With only two minutes remaining in the opening half, the Huskies struck again, this time off a corner kick by junior midfielder Michelle Carberry. Junior forward Caitlin Springer headed Carberry's corner kick in for NU's second and final goal of the night. The second half was also dominated by the Huskies as they held the Saints to just one shot and junior goalkeeper Rachelle Parkinson held on for the shutout. NU is now 1-1-1 lifetime against Siena.
