The Northeastern women's soccer team defeated Fairleigh Dickinson University, 4-1, in the first game of the Binghamton Adidas Soccer Classic in Binghamton, N.Y.

The Huskies got out to an early 3-0 lead just 17 minutes into first frame. Freshman Tanya Mello, senior Kate Mercier and junior Jen Herlihy all scored in the first half before FDU got on the board.

At the 31:53 mark, the Knights scored to make the game 3-1, but more notably it marked the first goal NU has allowed all season in nearly 400 minutes of action.

Herlihy scored again with just 37 seconds to go in the game to give the Huskies a final 4-1 victory. The Huskies now prepare for the finals of the tournament against Binghamton on Sunday at 1 p.m.
