Northeastern's amazing start continued as the Huskies shut out Drexel in their America East opener, 3-0 in Philadelphia. Caitlin Springer scored the only goal the Huskies would need, unassisted in the 36th minute. Shannon Dwyer and Kate Mercier added insurance goals in the second half.

Goalie Shellie Parkinson recorded her sixth shutout of the season, already an NU mark. She is now the Huskies' all-time leader in career shutouts.

With the win, NU broke the program record for wins in a season with seven. The Huskies had six wins in all of 1999. NU's program has been varsity since 1996.
