| 2001 Schedule/Results Northeastern 1, Drexel 1
The Huskies wasted no time getting on the board as Caitlin Springer blasted Melissa Cohen's cross past Drexel goalie Sara Peranteau just 40 seconds into the game. It was Springer's second goal of the year and Cohen's first assist of the 2001 campaign. The Dragons best opportunity of the half came at the 39-minute mark as Sandra Ackerman snuck past the Husky defense and put two shots on goal. NU goalie Shellie Parkinson made two diving saves in the one on one battle. Just under 55 minutes into the match, Ackerman took a lofted pass over NU's defense from Katie Kane and attacked Parkinson on goal. The shot sailed over the cross bar after Parkinson managed to get a mitt on the ball. Parkinson's dominance continued as she made a fingertip save on Kristi Manidis' direct kick, sending the bal over the cross bar at 86:45. Manidis would strike again just under three minutes later when she passed the corner kick to Kane who chipped the ball past Parkinson. Kane's goal at 89:14 was her fifth of the season. Opportunities were limited in both overtime periods as NU outshot Drexel 4-1 in both overtime frames combined. Both of the game's goals came at unusual times as NU scored just 40 seconds into the game and Drexel netted its lone goal with 46 seconds remaining in regulation. With the tie, NU is now 3-0-1 on the season, 0-0-1 in America East play, while Drexel is 3-3-1 on the year, 0-0-1 in conference action.
