The Spartans trailed, 3-1, when the team’s leading scorer, Vanessa Afonso, scored her team-leading third goal of the season. The Spartans’ rally was cut short as Thompson scored her second goal of the match, followed by Michelle Carberry’s goal to give the Huskies a 5-2 lead. The loss drops San Jose State’s record to 1-6-0, the team’s fifth loss in a row. Northeastern will play the University of the Pacific Sunday at 11 a.m. on the final day of the tournament. San Jose State will face Gonzaga immediately following the conclusion of that game. Pacific won, 1-0, in the earlier match against Gonzaga. SCORING
