NEWARK, DE - The Northeastern University women's soccer team was defeated 4-2 by America East opponent Delaware on Friday night in Newark, Dela. Delaware's Caryn Blood scored twice in the first half to give the Fightin' Blue Hens a 3-1 lead at the break. NU's lone goal of the half came when Melissa Cohen tied the game at 1-1 off an assist from Liz Dyjack. The second half saw a new goalie for the Huskies as Shellie Parkinson was lifted for Cynthia Slowik. Parkinson allowed three goals and made two saves in the first half, while Slowik let one goal by her and recorded three stops. Jennifer North scored NU's second goal of the night with just 10 minutes remaining, but it was too little, too late for the Huskies. The Dogs have dropped two-straight games for the first time all season and fall to 5-2-1 on the season and 1-1-1 in America East action. Delaware, however, improves to 4-4 on the year and 1-2 in conference play. NU now faces another America East opponent Towson on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Maryland. SCORING
