| The Huskies got four second-half goals, including two from redshirt freshman Kristin Kowalik, to pick up their second consecutive win, shutting out Holy Cross, 4-0, at Parsons Field on Wednesday.
After a number of first-half chances, sophomore Jess Pfeifer got Northeastern on the board in the second half with her second goal of the season, scoring the game-winner in the 55th minute on a nice pass from junior Jen North.
Kowalik would add some insurance for the Huskies, scoring the game's second and third goals. At 66:29, sophomore Filippa Petruccelli set up the first of Kowalik's goals on a perfect feed up the center of the field. North also notched her second assist of the game when she set up Kowalik's second goal, giving NU a commanding 3-0 lead.
Freshman Siobhan Howard picked up her first collegiate goal with 1:12 to play, giving Northeastern its final goal on a pass from sophomore Caitlin Moroni.
The Crusaders' chances were limited on the day, as the offense put just six shots on goal. Goalkeeper Eileen Geoghegan posted 11 saves in the loss. Northeastern had 23 shots on the day, and goalkeeper Cynthia Slowik recorded three saves to earn her second shutout of the season.
The matchup, which was originally scheduled as a home game for Holy Cross, was rained out on Tuesday and moved to Northeastern's facilities for Wednesday. NU improves to 4-3 overall with the win, while the Crusaders drop to 1-7.
The Huskies' next action will be this Saturday, when they take on Manhattan at 6 p.m. at Parsons Field. Holy Cross Northeastern
