The women's soccer team lost to Rider, 2-1, in overtime Sunday at Parsons Field. The team got a goal from senior Liz Dyjak at 81:26 to tie up the game, but the Broncs scored in overtime, handing the Huskies their third loss of the season.
Senior Tami Coyle scored the first goal of the game for the Broncs at 9:05. Teammate Shana Herman took the assist.
Sophomore Kristen Kowalik gained possesion of the ball late in the second in the left corner of the field. She crossed the ball to the center, setting up Dyjak for the shot into the top left corner of the net.
Freshman Shana Herman scored an unassisted goal late in third period off a direct kick at 97:12, giving Rider the win.
Sophomore goalie Mariel Wilner made eight saves for the Huskies, while Rider's Kim Carter made six.
NU (6-3-1) plays at Vermont on Friday, Oct. 1 in its first conference match of the season.
