The women's soccer team beat the Maine Black Bears, 2-1, Friday night at Parsons Field. Sophomore Kristen Kowalik put in two goals for the Huskies.
Kowalik's first goal came at 20:25 in the game came off of a breakaway pass from senior Jen North. Kowalik put in her second goal at 81:37 off a nice through ball by junior midfielder Jackie Spellman, upping the Husky lead to 2-0. She has eight goals this season.
Maine's goal came from junior forward Heather Hathorn at 88:37 in the second.
Northeastern goalie Mariel Wilner recorded five saves for the Huskies. Maine's keeper Tanya Adorno also had five saves.
The Huskies next game is Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at Parsons Field against New Hampshire.
