The Northeastern University women's soccer team lost just its third game of the season to Old Dominion Friday night.
The Huskies went down 2-0 in the first half. ODU scored in the second minute of the game on a breakaway by Janna Pearson assisted by Lisa McKenzie. Five minutes later the Huskies let up another goal. Katie Watson scored, assisted again by McKenzie.
The Huskies outshot the Monarchs 7-4 in the first half but were unable to get the ball past goalie Colby Owen.
In the 85th minute junior back Laura Johnson scored her first goal of the season off a corner from freshman midfielder Sopia Palmquist.
The Huskies were unable to continue the comeback, ending the game down 2-1. Junior keeper Annie Petrofsky made six saves in the loss.
NU drops to 6-3-1 (2-1 CAA) with the loss. They will face William & Mary Sunday at 12:30.
