The Northeastern University women's soccer team earned its third tie of the season against Colonial Athletic Association opponent Delaware Friday, 1-1.
The Huskies gave up an early goal for the third consecutive game, allowing Jess Bendzlowicz to get a shot off from 20 yards out that she placed in the right corner of the net in the 20th minute.
The first half ended with Delaware up by one, and remained that way until the 80th minute when Cailtin Whelan scored her fourth goal of the season off a direct kick.
Each team registered two shots in the overtime periods but were unable to score, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.
Junior keeper Annie Petrofsky made four saves in the contest.
The Huskies return to Parsons Field Sunday hoping to make it a perfect 7-0 at home this season. Sunday is both the Senior Game for Kristin Kowalik, Siobhan Howard, Jessie Haidamaka, Nicole Bottino and Amanda Sesto as well as the Homecoming game. The match starts at 1 p.m.
