The Huskies let up three second-half goals en route to a 3-0 shutout loss to Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. on Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies now have two consecutive losses and fall to 7-6-1 and 3-3-0 in CAA play. The loss drops NU to seventh in the conference. The shutout marks the fifth time the Huskies have failed to score a goal this season.
The two teams played to a scoreless first half as both offenses failed to find the back of the net. The Monarchs outshot the Huskies 10-3 in the half. Freshman goalie Stephanie Gordon made three saves to keep the Monarchs off the board.
The second half was a different story as the Huskies let up goals at 58:59, 64:18 and 86:24 and were only able to get off one shot on goal themselves. The Monarchs were led by Jodie Knorowski who had one goal and one assist. Elizabeth Brewster also contributed with two assists.
Liza Rebello led the Huskies with two shots, one on goal as the Huskies were outshot in the game 20-6.
Old Dominion has yet to lose at home and improves to 11-2-1 (4-1-1 CAA) on the season.
The Huskies are back in action when they come back home to face Georgia State on Friday at 6 p.m.
