Northeastern placed eighth at the New England Championship, the team's highest placing in several years. The Huskies were led by ninth-place finisher Brittany Moriarty, who ran a time of 18:04. Two other Huskies were under 19:00 - Jessica Barton (18th in 18:25) and Kristen Martin (30th in 18:31). The Huskies are back in action with the CAA Championship on Nov. 1 in Centreville, Va.

Moriarty named CAA Runner of the Week
Northeastern senior Brittany Moriarty has been named CAA Co-Runner of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Moriarty received the honor after running a 22:14 in the 6K course at the George Mason Invitational on Saturday at Bull Run Park in Centreville, Va. She placed 10th overall and was the top runner from any CAA school.

Huskies fourth at George Mason
Brittany Moriarty placed 10th overall to lead Northeastern to a fourth place finish in the George Mason Invitational on Saturday at Bull Run Park in Centreville, Va. Virginia won the meet and Northeastern was the top CAA team on the day. Sophomore Kristen Martin placed 20th in 22:40 and senior Kristie Gagnon took 23rd in 22:48. NU is back in action at the New England Championship at Franklin Park in Boston on Oct. 11.

NU 13th at UMass Dartmouth Invite
Northeastern placed 13th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday in Dartmouth, Mass. The Huskies were led by sophomore Jillian Buck, who placed 26th in a time of 19:00. Most of the Huskies' top runners had the race off after placing second in the Dartmouth Invitational last Saturday in Hanover, N.H. Freshman Kathleen Keen was the second Husky across the line and senior Laura McCloskey was the third.

Huskies second at Dartmouth Invite
Northeastern took second at the highly-competitive Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday in Hanover, N.H. Brown won the meet with 51 points and the Huskies won the battle for second with 73 points, ahead of Boston University (75), Dartmouth (76) and three other schools. Brittany Moriarty had a great race, placing fourth overall in 20:37.6 and sophomore transfer Jessica Barton placed 12th in 20:59.5.

Huskies open fourth at CCSU Invite
Northeastern sent a partial squad to the Blue Devil Invitational and placed fourth on Friday night at Central Connecticut State in New Britain, Conn. The Huskies' top finisher was freshman Meegan Joly, who placed fourth in a time of 18:51. She was followed by Brittanie McDonald (ninth), Jillian Buck (19th), Kathleen Keen (25th) and Laura McCloskey (31st).
