Northover wins Jamaican shot put championship
Former Northeastern track & field star and current Huskies assistant coach Zara Northover recently won the shot put at the Jamaica National Senior Championship in Kingston, Jamaica. Northover had a season-best throw of 53'4.5 to win the competition. She will next compete at the Central American and Caribbean Track & Field Senior Championship July 3-5 in Havana, Cuba, with the hopes of qualifying for Jamaica's World Championships team. Northover was a five-time NCAA Championship qualifier for Northeastern and became the first alumna in school history to compete in women's track & field in the Olympics.

Huskies compete in NCAA East Regional
Northeastern's Porshe Giddings, Brittany Moriarty and Nancy Rowe competed in the NCAA East Regional this weekend in Greensboro, N.C. Giddings placed 24th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.88. Moriarty ran the 5000-meter in a time of 17:23.44 to finish 38th. Rowe finished 18th in the javelin after a throw of 133'04.

Giddings, Rowe place in ECAC Championship
Porshe Giddings placed third in the 100-meter dash to lead Northeastern
University at the ECAC Championship this weekend in Princeton, N.J. She
scored six points and Nancy Rowe scored one in the javelin to propel
the Huskies to a 35th-place finish.

NU featured in CAA highlight video
Northeastern is featured in the Colonial Athletic Association's highlight video for the CAA Championship for track & field at Towson April 17-18. There is footage of the Huskies' wins by Nancy Rowe in the javelin, Kristen Martin in the 10,000-meter and Porshe Giddings in the 100-meter dash. NU finished fourth in the meet.

Huskies third at New England Championship
Northeastern placed third with 57.5 points at the New England Championship on Friday and
Saturday in Amherst, Mass. Sophomore Porshe
Giddings won the 100-meter dash and NU's 4x100-meter relay of Giddings, Consandria Walker, Sarah Trotman and Serena Allen was
victorious. Nancy Rowe took second in the javelin and Walker also placed in the long jump, triple jump and 100.
