Northover 10th at NCAA Championship
It was Northover's fourth NCAA Championship appearance and the second time she made it to the finals. She placed 12th overall at the NCAA Championship as a sophomore in 2004.
Northover won three events (shot put, discus, hammer) and set a meet record of 53'2.25 in the shot put en route to Most Outstanding Field Performer honors at the CAA Championship April 20-21. She then placed second at the Penn Relays before winning the shot put at the ECAC Championship. Her ECAC toss of 55'0.75 was a Northeastern record and an ECAC Record. Two weeks ago, Northover placed second in the shot put at the NCAA East Regional Championship with a throw of 54'5.25 to qualify for the NCAA Championship.
Northover, who has dual citizenship with the United States and Jamaica, will compete internationally for Jamaica this summer. She will train for the 2008 Olympics with hopes of representing Jamaica.

Sacramento, CASenior Zara Northover of the Northeastern University women's track & field team capped off her career with a 10th-place finish in the shot put at the NCAA Championship on Saturday in Sacramento, Calif. Northover threw the shot put 51'3 in the finals. She had tossed the shot 52'8.25 in the preliminaries on Thursday to qualify.
